We were young lieutenants in Vietnam mid-1969 through mid-1970. Rick was an Army infantry platoon leader in the Central Highlands. Terry was an Air Force pilot based in the Delta. We have been friends, through hang gliding, for 20 years. We leave February 1 for three weeks, DEROS 22 FEB 12.

We have not seen another American since we left Saigon. The Vietnamese we interact with throughout the day generally think that we are Europeans or Russians, of which there are many. If they discover we are Americans, they are very warm and welcoming. TR

Enjoying your posts. Glad things are going good! Vung Tau has that giant statue of Christ on top of Tao Phung mountain. Supposed to be a nice view from up there. You can go up in the statue too. Have fun and be safe!
